Selene is a fresh new Symphonic Metal band from L/Derry in Northern Ireland.
Bringing together a mix of soaring Operatic vocals, infectious hooks and hard
hitting metal they bring forward a signature Symphonic Metal sound without
losing the Metal Edge.

Selene was founded in 2013 by John Connor and Shonagh Lyons. Having previously
worked together in Gate XIII when Shonagh performed vocals on one track of
their 2012 EP Once Upon a Time and acted as Lead vocalist in the following live
shows, they decided to start a band playing Symphonic Metal that would fit well
in a live environment.

They quickly finished their first EP “Among the Frozen” which was released
July 16th 2013. “Among the Frozen” has already been seeing good success with
a number of tracks receiving airplay both internationally and locally with
coverage of the release coming from all corners of the world drawing favourable
comparisons with bands such as Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, and Evanescance
