Plot[edit]
The film begins with a prologue, followed by six vignettes titled after a character central to the story. Horror film actress Kyoko Harase is driving home with her fiancé, Masashi, after guest starring in an episode of a popular TV horror show titled Heart-Stopping Backgrounds; Kyoko is pregnant with the couple's child. After Masashi accidentally runs over a black cat, the couple is startled by the appearance of a ghostly child (Toshio Saeki) and crash over. When Kyoko recovers, she finds her womb bleeding.
