A man enters the bank with something resembling a bomb around his neck. He demands that money is transferred into an account, or he will blow up the bank. The man is known as the village idiot, and claims that Sitting Bull is his father. Is the village idiot acting on his own, or are there more people involved?

Wallander is adapted from the late Henning Mankell's Kurt Wallander novels, and comprises 32 films in all.
This 1st series of 13 films was produced in 2005 and 2006, with one taken directly from a novel and the remainder with new storylines suggested by Mankell. The BBC aired all 32 episodes of the Swedish television versions on BBC Four.
