A description or synopsis would be nearly impossible and somewhat pointless. Fantagraphics calls it a hugely popular sci-fi-prison-planet-gore-fest-slugfest-a-thon serial, and that just about covers it. It's a mindfuck of a great book and you should have already read it, so get to it!
