this is the companion cd that comes with the book "Animation: pencils to pixels". Its not the actual book but a multimedia pdf addendum to the book chronicling the making of "Endangered Species". Its chock full of embedded movies and is a neat epilogue to the book.

“Endangered Species” pays homage to one of the greatest forms of artistic endeavor known to man… animation! It is also a sad lament for the fact that the industry I have known and loved for so long is in apparent decline. “Endangered Species” allowed me to accumulate the very best of the past knowledge, studying and analyzing it at the feet of some of the great ”grand masters” of animation, then re-creating it in an entirely contemporary digital environment. Contained in this disk is a scene-by-scene director’s commentary, a “why’s, what’s and the wherefores” of a film I just HAD to make… especially at a time when the genre I know and so much love is under severe threat.
