"Too Bad" is a single by the Canadian rock band Nickelback, the second one from their 2001 album, Silver Side Up. The single was released in the year 2001. It peaked at #42 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

The lyrics were written by the bands singer and guitarist Chad Kroeger and deals with the issues he felt growing up without his father, who abandoned him at age two.

Silver Side Up is the third studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on September 11, 2001. It was the band's breakthrough album and, according to Allmusic, continued Nickelback's tradition of "dark high-octane rock" from the band's first two albums. It reached #1, where it did so in Canada, Austria, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The album was certified 8× Platinum in Canada, 6× Platinum in the US and 3× Platinum in the UK.

The singles released from Silver Side Up were "How You Remind Me", "Too Bad" and "Never Again" – the most successful being "How You Remind Me", which reached #1 in the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock charts.

Silver Side Up has sold 5,421,137 copies in the US as of June 13, 2009.

The 5th track entitled 'Just For' was originally recorded on Nickleback's debut album Curb under the title "Just Four". The new version is a re-recorded version that is 9 seconds longer
