Description:
Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn set sail in an Edwardian
trawler for a fishing trip, but as women were considered
bad luck at sea, Ruth Goodman is left ashore to forage
on the beach, prepare potted shrimp and build a smoke-
house to cure mackerel. She also explores one of the
growing fashions of the era by holding a seance, while
