Episode 4: FREE TO BE ME - 28 Minutes

A favourite teenage chat-up line in 1972 was 'do you like heavy music?'. The intellectually inclined called it 'progressive', and it even had its own TV programme - The Old Grey Whistle Test. Out of 'heavy' music was eventually to come heavy metal, but first came the back-to-basics no nonsense 'pubrock' that was to foreshadow punk. Including performances from Free, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, and Dr Feelgood.
