The band are at their absolute peak of performance and popularity. There can rarely have

been a better front man than the then-youthful Sting and Stewart Copeland is one amazing

drummer. Andy Summers was/is a superb musician and his contribution was always, I feel,

underrated. The sound they created was incredible given they were a three-piece unit. Godley

& Creme did a wonderful job of capturing the excitement of the live performance and the

audience reaction. I find it as exciting now 21(!!!) years after the event as I did at the

time. A great legacy to leave as they broke up at their peak. It shows all the modern

manufactured bands how to do it. Remember you have to be able to actually master and PLAY

your instruments!! Oh and you also need talent. The Police had all that in spades.

Rodado en Atlanta en el año 1.983, fue una de sus últimas actuaciones en directo antes de

separarse definitivamente. Desde entonces sólo han tocado en tres conciertos de "Amnistia

Internacional" en el año 1.986, en la boda de Sting y en 2.003, cuando ingresaron en el

"Rock and Roll Hall of Fame".
Los tres músicos, acompañados de tres eleganteS coristas están en estado de gracia. Durante

más de hora y media no paran de escupir un temazo tras otro, abarcando todas las etapas de

la banda, con mucha compenetración con el público.
Incomensurables los tres artistas: desde Sting, que toca y canta unas líneas de bajo más

complicadas de lo que parecen, a Stewart Copeland (de otro planeta) que no contento con la

batería también toca el vibráfono, hasta llegar al guitarrista más elegante (y bailarín,

como se comprueba en el concierto) que ha pisado este planeta, Andy Summers, vemos a un

grupazo, con un ritmo y un gusto inigualables.
