The plot is based on the true story of Operation Bernhard, a scheme devised by Himmler's SS to ruin the British financial system by forging tons of five pound notes and dropping them on England.
Ian Richardson is perfect as the incompetent Major Neuheim, but what makes the series special is Jack Pullman's script.
