Strong crime drama with equally strong cast. Police detective Edward G. Robinson pretends he's been kicked off the force so he can infiltrate a city wide crime syndicate led by Barton MacLane. Also in the cast are: Humphrey Bogart, Joan Blondell, Joe King and Frank McHugh. My favorite scene is the shoot out between Robinson and Bogart. William Keighley directs this rough and tough black and white gangster flick. Almost as many bullets as bad guys.
