Jack Murphy (Charles Bronson), a veteran police detective, goes through a phase in which everything is giving to him. First he gets a call where a woman says she's going to kill him, but first she'll turn her life into hell. He makes the mistake of not giving importance to this connection. Later, in a police chase, he kills Tony Vincenzo (Chris DeRose), the brother of gangster Frank Vincenzo (Richard Romanus), and is now set to die. His wife left him and became an "exotic dancer", but soon she and her new husband are murdered. Jack is charged, arrested, but runs away with Arabella McGee (Kathleen Wilhoite), a young and runaway fringe who was arrested by Jack. He now needs to rely on her help to prove his innocence.
