A screenwriter (Chris Evans) runs into trouble when a producer, Bryan (Anthony Mackie), ordering him the script of a typical romantic comedy. The problem is that he believes that films of this type idealize love in a way that it is never in real life, but Bryan promise you that if you accept this task, the place dreamed to write the script of an action movie. Thus he accepted the task. However, amidst all his pessimism about the romance in general, he meets a girl (Michelle Monaghan) with a very sarcastic sense of humor, with whom falls in love.
