Bret owes his life to Lefty Dolan, the likeable bank robber, but when Lefty is shot and dying he confesses to a crime for which an innocence man is serving a life sentence. Bret, feeling that he's being driven by Lefty's ghost, spends a year trying to prove Jedd Ferris' innocence. This is a marvellously well-written story by De Vallon Scott.
