Bolt (John Travolta) is a dog who starred in a TV series, which has superpowers. His companion is Penny (Miley Cyrus), who lives several adventures. But Bolt does not know that the world around is false, believing that actually own special gifts. When the recordings of one of the episodes, Penny is kidnapped by dr. Calico (Malcolm McDowell), the villain of the series, he manages to escape the van in which they live and part behind her. When dealing with real life is that, gradually, he becomes aware that he has no superpowers and is a normal dog.
