The staff of the Berlin based movie theatre Babylon struggles for better working conditions. Babylon System accompanies their fight against non-pay-scale labor and precarious standards. In the course of the events not only managers and employees clash, but also different unions and strategies. A look behind the scenes of a collective action analyzing the increasing exploitation in a modern cultural industry.


Im Kino Babylon Mitte, dem senatsgefoerderten Kommunalkino mit dem Links-Image, haben sich die Beschaeftigten gemeinsam mit der FAU (Freie Arbeiterinnen und Arbeiter Union) organisiert. Babylon System dokumentiert den Kampf gegen aussertarifliche prekaere Arbeit. Dabei stossen nicht nur Belegschaft und Kinoleitung aneinander, sondern auch verschiedene gewerkschaftliche Strategien. Der Film blickt hinter die Kulissen des Arbeitskampfes und analysiert ein Paradebeispiel zunehmender Prekarisierung im Kulturbetrieb.
