Henry Cow - In Praise Of Learning 1975
This was the first Henry Cow I ever bought, the LP with the red boot.
Eventually I had them all, and would put those three \'boots\' on my wall, each in a transparent LP frame.
WishI stll had \'em.
Anyway, this can be a life-changing album if heard under proper circumstances.
Considered in the context of its time, over thirty years ago, astonishingly different- yet fearlessly so.
It is the first album to be co-credited with Slapp Happy, whose Dagmar Krause would later form the Art Bears with Frith and Cutler.
\"Art is not a mirror, it is a hammer\" the band quotes John Grierson.
