ÛÛÛ² last year was Montana\'s Martriden, now signed ²Û
ÛÛÛ² to Siege of Amida Records, but 2007 could very ²Û
ÛÛÛ² well be the year of Sweden\'s Zombie ²Û
ÛÛÛ² Destruktion. Seriously, Tales of Morbid ²Û
ÛÛÛ² Mummification is a great, technically-inclined ²Û
ÛÛÛ² death metal record that is even more endearing ²Û
ÛÛÛ² for its comical lyrics, which center on ²Û
ÛÛÛ² pirates, ninjas, mummies, and of course, ²Û
ÛÛÛ² zombies. ²Û
ÛÛÛ² ²Û
ÛÛÛ² First and foremost, the trio consisting of ²Û
ÛÛÛ² Thomas Clifford and the brothers Porsklev is an ²Û
ÛÛÛ² extremely talented unit as each member handles ²Û
ÛÛÛ² two, three, or four instrumental duties, ²Û
ÛÛÛ² respectively, and all of them well. Tales of ²Û
ÛÛÛ² Morbid Mummification is traditional, yet ²Û
ÛÛÛ² technical and melodic. Guitar leads are ²Û
ÛÛÛ² intricate, drum fills are dense, and the vocals ²Û
ÛÛÛ² are deep growls, except for the clean ones in ²Û
ÛÛÛ² the catchy chorus of \'Mummified in Mexico.\' The ²Û
ÛÛÛ² instrumental sections of \'Mutilation of the ²Û
ÛÛÛ² Unborn\' are nothing short of excellent, and ²Û
ÛÛÛ² quite possibly the highlight of this 10-track ²Û
ÛÛÛ² record. While Zombie Destruktion\'s lyrics ²Û
ÛÛÛ² aren\'t gore-free, it\'s refreshing to read ²Û
ÛÛÛ² non-traditional DM lyrics, even if they come ²Û
ÛÛÛ² across as silly, which shouldn\'t be an issue ²Û
ÛÛÛ² with most listeners because the unintelligible ²Û
ÛÛÛ² vocals obfuscate them to the point where they ²Û
ÛÛÛ² can\'t be deciphered without the inlay. Still, ²Û
ÛÛÛ² they can be funny. ²Û
ÛÛÛ² ²Û
ÛÛÛ² \'Mummified in Mexico\': \"I went down to Tijuana ²Û

ÛÛÛ² one or more of their peers, Zombie Destruktion ²Û
ÛÛÛ² should definitely be looked into if you?re a ²Û
ÛÛÛ² fan of death metal. My only complaint is that, ²Û
ÛÛÛ² despite being considered a full-length, it\'s a ²Û
ÛÛÛ² tad short at only 30 minutes. Nevertheless, the ²Û
ÛÛÛ² band certainly deserves label interest at this ²Û
