Beyond Compare is an advanced directory and file comparison utility that (among other things) allows you to synchronize files between laptop and PC, home and office, or any other two locations.

You can compare any two directory trees side-by-side with mismatches automatically highlighted and several filter options to further investigate the differences. When you are comparing text based files, the files are shown side-by-side and the differences are highlighted, so that they are easy to spot.

In addition to folders and text files, the program can also compare images and MP3 files as well as other binary files. You can even use Beyond Compare to perform FTP synchronizations, compare and merge source code changes, create snapshots and more.
