So what is happening? In this age of information it seem lots of important things going
down are ignored by an increasing number of artists. Seemingly not interested in anything
but disposable subject matter with little or no substance.

Some may say this is a reflection of the disposable society in which we live and they may be right?

Traditionally throughout time, the artist’s role has been to make social comment.
To put forward views that are not always in line with the views forced upon us by
"the powers that be". This album makes social comment through the use of a theme.

That theme being "What’s Happening". Be it personally, socially, politically,
environmentally or economically. The album addreses issues that we all face. Katalyst
enlists a broad range of guests from the US, UK and Australia that all have their own
take on What’s Happening. Many new collaborations here - as well as teaming up with
some old favourites

The new album "What’s Happening" is a musical excursion through many different styles,
brought together with Katalyst’s signature sound. Moving seamless though space-aged soul,
hip hop, funk and rock, this project is truly diverse.

Katalyst enlists an all star guest line up to make comment on what’s happening -

Stephanie McKay (US) - New York based soul artist who has worked with Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Amp Fiddler, Geoff Barrow an many others

Steve Spacek (UK) - Soul artist whose been likened to Marvin Gaye and has worked with J Dilla, Slum Village and more.
Giles Peterson has hailed him as the voice of modern soul.
Ru C.L - An Australian Jamaican MC. One of the top MC in Australia today.

Hau - from the Aria Award winning hip hop duo Koolism

Diverse (US) - He has worked with artists such as Mos Def, Madlib, J Dilla. His last album was Feature Album on Triple J.

Yungun (UK) - One of the UK's finest MC's with supporters like BBC Radio 1?s Zane Lowe.

Mat McHugh - The main man from The Beautiful Girls

Joe Volk (UK) - A talented singer/songwriter and front man for Gonga and Cripple Black Phoenix

Katie Noonan - former front woman from George, has just released her new solo project.

J-Live (US) - Has worked with DJ Premier ,Pete Rock, DJ Spinna, Prince Paul, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Numark, Dan the Automator, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and many more.

Adalita - iconic front woman from Magic Dirt. She needs no introduction

Supernatural (US) New York MC -arguably the worlds best freestyle MC.(vinyl only)
