Plot summary
No, Vampires Breakfast (1987) is not a marketing tie-in for Count Chocula; it is yet another bid to cash in on the vampire comedy craze inaugurated by the 1985 classic Mr. Vampire. Vampires Breakfast may not have a startlingly original story to tell, but it gets a big boost from some of the industrys hardest working character actors. The under-appreciated Kent Cheng heads up the cast as a bumbling reporter on the trail of an undead bloodsucker out to make Emily Chu into his next meal. And what Hong Kong horror/comedy would be complete without Wu Ma?

No one believes newspaper reporter Bill(Cheng) when he finds evidence that a recent string of murders is the work of a hungry vampire, except for a pretty eyewitness who saw the creature firsthand. Smitten by the young ladys charms, Bill decides to prove to his boss(Wu Ma) that he and the girl are not crazy. He stages some fake vampire pictures for the front page, but the faux photo shoot is crashed by the genuine vampire, who is developed a taste for Bills love interest. The inept reporter becomes an unlikely hero as he battles the forces of darkness in order to keep his sweetheart from becoming the Vampires Breakfast!
