Columbo, a classic detective show that lead a genre, starring Peter Falk as the innocuous-looking but incisive homicide detective.

The show, a success for NBC and later revived by ABC, featured a plethora of greats, from Speilberg directing an episode in the first series, to UK evergreen Patrick McGoohan [Danger Man; The Prisoner] directing and starring 4 times.

Repeat killers included Robert Culp, William Shatner, George Hamilton and Jack Cassidy.
