"Trying to escape a criminal past, one man attempts to join the ranks of the Shaolin Warriors, but is denied. Having impressed the King with his dedication, he is hired as a temple groundskeeper.
Working on the temple grounds during the day and mastering Kung Fu at night, he prepares for a second chance at becoming a warrior.
His test comes sooner than expected, when his King’s enemy declares war, leaving him alone to defend the temple."


his is a very 80s movie: classic Shaolin setting, eager young man who kneels on stones before the temple to be admitted, then working in the garden while being refused the training itself, and so on, plus revenge theme, comedy, lack of wire fu, and straight-forward directing.

TBH, Unfortunately, the formula is all there is to this movie and it was already done again and again; nothing elevates this - there is nothing outstanding about the visuals or choreography, the acting and comedy are serviceable, but hit only familiar beats.
