Canadian Samurai II, the long-awaited (two-and-a-half-year-in-the-making) album from Electric Magma, will finally be released in June 2012

The album was recorded in Wasaga Beach Ontario in the winter of 2011, in a huge log cabin in the woods.

The riffs and licks for the songs were written over a three year period by Tryg Smith and Tim Reesor. Drums, during the writing sessions between 2009-2011, were performed by Tom Brouard (Electric Magma’s drummer from 2001-2011). Drums from 2011-present were performed by Mario Lunardo (Electric Magma’s current drummer). Vito Florio, from HEAVY HAULER, came out during the recording session to hang out and provide his killer bbq skills.
The album was then sent to California to be mixed by Scott Reeder (Kyuss), we flew down to join Reeder in his studio (The Sanctuary) for three days in Feb 2012 to oversee the mixing (We also oversaw the original Welcome to Sky Valley sign while cruising the vistas in a black Camaro).

Scott instantly plugged us into the ‘holy shit this sounds awesome” pedal, and we were off to the races!
