This is the first adult novel I have ever listened to. It is also the saddest. I do not know how many tissues I went through listening to this novel. When Kate Fitzgerald is diagnosed with a deadly form of leukemia, doctors create test tube baby Anna to save her life. At the age of thirteen, Anna sues her parents for the rights to her own body. After having been medically emansupated, however, Anna and her lawyer Campbell Alexander are involved in a horrific accident that leaves Anna fatally injured. In the end, her kidney is donated to her older sister. This is a must read novel if you need a good cry.
