**日本が韓国支配を強める中、韓国皇帝・高宗が国際会議に密使を派遣、日本支配の不当性を訴えようとする、いわゆるハーグ密使事件が起こる。
しかし、欧米主要国は密使を黙殺…なぜ密使を相手にしなかったのか。明治41年11月、清の皇帝・光緒帝が死去。当時から暗殺の噂が絶えなかったが、その翌日に長年実権を握っていた西太后が死去。清国で何が起きていたのだろうか。
明治42年10月、清のハルビン駅で伊藤博文が暗殺。犯人・安重根はその場で取り押さえられたが、なぜ韓国併合に反対し続けてきた伊藤博文が狙われたのだろうか。**
