I
evaluated the new Japanese Blu-Rays that will finish coming out this year. I think the Blu-Rays have advantages that make post-episode-167 DVD encodes kind of pointless, so I am canceling my DVD encodes for episodes that will get a Blu-Ray release, and I am not going to be including episodes 190-203, 206-212, and 215-226 in the final batch—grab them now if you want them.
When all is said and done, the best Bleach release will use the following video:
001-167: [SOFCJ-Raws] (the Blu-Rays are better in some ways, but beating SOFCJ-Raws would take a lot of effort that no one is willing to put in)
168-189, 204-205, 213-214, 227-266, 287, 298-299, 303-305, 311-341, 355: [Okay-Raws]
190-203, 206-212, 215-226, 267-286, 288-297, 300-302, 306-310, 342-354, 356-366: New Blu-Rays
EDIT: I evaluated the new Italian BDs for episodes 001-020. The ITBDs are sharper, and they preserve more detail in high motion scenes compared to SOFCJ-Raws, but they lose detail in some static scenes, have incorrect framerate for some shots, and have jank-looking slow pans and zooms. So I think SOFCJ-Raws is the superior option.
EDIT2:
CURRENT BEST OPTION FOR WATCHING BLEACH:
001-167: [ASC]
168- (non-filler): None, but if someone made a simple encode of the JPBD and put subs on it, that would be best. Reinforce has audio sync problems. The JPBDs are not fully out yet.
168- (filler): None, but it someone made a subbed release with these raws, that would be best. Obviously, these encodes are not fully done yet.
