Tsuchimiya Asuka and her friends are always on the lookout for something fun to do. One day they learn of a strange ritual they can do at precisely 4:44. So what the hell? They try it out. Turns out it was real and they find themselves in an alternate reality, surrounded by monsters. But someone swoops in to save them. Who? Another Asuka. They learn that there are endless realities and each of them have a different version of themselves. But all realities are being threatened by the Twilight, a strange phenomenon that eats entire realities. The other Asuka tells them to go back to their world, but the girls aren't about to let such an opportunity for adventure slip away.
I greatly enjoyed this show, mostly because Asuka is such a bundle of joy one can't help fall in love with her. All the girls are good, yes, but Asuka is on another level. Who else can bug the avatar of a deity to get her some snacks? The animation is a blend of 2d and 3d CG, but the show looked pretty good except for the fights, which are in 3dcg. The director seems proud of them, seeing as they have their own Directors Cut on the disc. But the battles aren't the main focus anyway. The show is much more interested in the characters and I think it does a great job in developing them.
This was part of a multi-media project that turned out to be a gigantic money hole. Sadly, it never took off. Hope you enjoy the anime. Subs are from Erai.
