Apperantly the correct aspect ratio for this movie is 1.375:1 according to IMDb and other sources.
I suggest you set the aspect ratio manually, in mpc Right click>Video Frame>Overide Aspect Ratio>4:3 (mpc doesn't have 1.375/1 built in so this is the closest you'll get), in mpv... well the fact that you use mpv probably means you already know what you're doing~~~
