What is Naruto Kai?

For the uninitiated, Naruto Kai is an abridged version of the anime that removes filler, OPs/EDs, recaps, and previews. Several episodes are merged together to create one long episode, and each episode covers its respective manga volume (Episode 1 covers what's in Volume 1 of the manga, Episode 5=Volume 5, Episode 20=Volume 20...You get the picture).
Is this subbed or dubbed?

The first 55 episodes are dual-audio. You must select your language settings to switch between English and Japanese audio (On VLC this can be done by right-clicking the video, selecting Audio -> Audio Track, and then selecting your preferred language). For episodes 56 and up, they are subbed only.
Who created this project?

As far as i can tell, there's never been a consistent person/group working on it. The earliest links I could find are by a user named CajNatalie on Narutoforums, back in 2007.\[1\] She posted up to episode 17, so I assume at some point, somebody else picked it up and continued working on it. I downloaded all of my episodes from this thread\[2\] . Starting at episode 61, I started to make the episodes myself, because I wanted higher quality video and cleaner edits than what was already being released. I named it Naruto Kai so that people wouldn't be confused with the Naruto Cut to Manga that is being released simultaneously.
Can you edit (insert episode #) to remove/include this scene?

Probably not. As I mentioned above, i only worked on episodes 61 and up. Those are the only episodes I have the files to work with.
That being said, the only time I'll re-edit an episode is if I've made an editing mistake (like leaving in filler).
When will the next episode be released?

1 or 2 days after the anime reaches the end of the next volume.
How many episodes will there be in total?

72\.
Will you also do this with Gaiden?

If Gaiden gets released, Yes.
