Allan Campbell (Cole Hauser) heeft een slechte dag achter de rug. Hij gaat naar een bar om zijn zijn zorgen te verdrinken. In een dronken bui raakt hij aan de praat met een mysterieuze man die zichzelf Jonas noemt (Cuba Gooding Jr.). Na een tijdje geeft Jonas aan mensen te vermoorden voor geld en vraagt Allan vijf mensen op te schrijven die hij dood zou willen hebben. Allan ziet er de lol wel van in en schrijft de namen op om aan het spelletje mee te doen. Wanneer de doden zich op beginnen te stapelen en rechercheur Neil McKay (Jonathan LaPaglia) Allan op het spoor is, blijkt het niet om een grap te gaan. Hij zal nu alles in het werk moeten stellen om de moorden te stoppen.
