This is one of the few times I went with a foreign cover but I really like the Denoël 2011 edition.
The performance, as usual with Roy Avers, was well done.

From NLS

The author has rendered an allegorical, satiric retelling of the Old English Beowulf from the point of view of the monster, Grendel, devourer of men. Grendel perceives the ambition, fear, art, hope, and loneliness of the human condition.
