Tatsuo (Kazuya Takahashi), a young foot soldier in the yakuza, seeks revenge when his prostitute girlfriend (Reiko Kataoka) dies after a session with a high-ranking Japanese senator with a taste for torture. He sets out on a "kamikaze" mission to kill his bosses and the politician, who promptly put a hit out on him. Along the way, Tatsuo procures the services of Peruvian-Japanese taxi driver Kantake (Kōji Yakusho), who has recently returned to Japan after living in South America for decades and is struggling to cope with poverty & the prejudices of native-born Japanese. The two form an unlikely bond, and Kantake proves to be an invaluable ally in Tatsuo's quest to take out the mob, the senator & everyone else who gets in his way.
