The Teens formed in 1976 in Halensee, a picturesque part of West Berlin, as a school rock band.
What these nimble Berlin teenagers accomplished in a matter of months takes many musicians years and years of grueling work.
The Teens confidently supplanted the former favorite of the youth of that time, the Bay City Rollers, and until then (and for a good quarter of a century after!) There had never been such a German group of underage musicians that created such a sensation in their homeland and became instantly famous and loved by millions!
15 years after breaking up in 1996, The Teens are trying to make a comeback (sans Mobius). Tom Bopp (Western Union, Petticoat) handled bass. On the keys is the same newcomer - Chris Wirsching (Western Union, Petticoat, Flashback). In addition to old hits, the disc “Past and Present ’76–’96” includes five new tracks (two of which are modernized versions of early hits).
