The Germans have taken Vienna without a shot having been fired. In Austria is an English journalist called Rod Troy. Back home his younger brother joins the CID as a detective constable. November 1938 Kristallnacht. The Jews leave Vienna, in any way they can. June 1940 Sergeant Troy is seconded to Special Branch to help round up ‘enemy’ aliens, including his brother Rod, for internment on the Isle of Man. Meanwhile in London a lunatic is killing Rabbis. Troy goes in pursuit of a murderer.
