A synthesis of genres, Glitter Wizard's sound is highly informed by music from that most turbulent turning of decades, the '60s into the '70s. The band pays homage to seminal rock alchemists Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer and Hawkwind, whose influence can clearly be observed in their new single, "Black Lotus," a blistering assault of crunchy distortion, spaced-out synthesizers and the cultish echoes of Stonehenge's incantations. According to Tea, most of their songs are about "unicorns and rough sex."
