L2, Lineage 2

Lineage II, which is abbreviated L2, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) published by NCsoft in Europe and North America and by AsianMedia in Southeast Asia. The game was released in South Korea in 2003 and in the United States in 2004. Lineage 2 is one of the most popular MMORPGs with millions of subscribers worldwide.

Lineage 2 takes place in the medieval era in the continents of Aden and Elmore. Players can participate in PVP (players versus players) combat and fight monsters and complete Lineage 2 quests for new items and experience points. Like the original, L2 also offers siege warfare.

There are five Lineage 2 races for players to choose from and for each race there are 36 L2 classes. After reaching level 75 and completing certain quests, players have the option of adding a L2 subclass to their character. The subclasses begin at level 40 and once level 75 is reached another subclass may be added. In addition to the main class, a total of 3 subclasses can be added to each character.

When subclasses reach level 75 they can also become a Lineage 2 Noblesse. As a Noblesse they receive special rewards such as crowns, abilities, skills, and more teleporting options. At level 50 a Noblesse can compete in the Grand Olympiad. The Noblesse that wins the Grand Olympiad will become one of the 31 Heroes that are allowed in the game. Lineage 2 Heroes receive special abilities, weapons, and have a glow to distinguish them from other character.

Lineage II sagas are the set of story plots of the game and the first one was launched as “The Chaotic Chronicle”. Every half year new L2 quests, regions, items and skills are added to the game in the form of Lineage 2 Chronicles. These updates are downloadable Lineage 2 patches that continue to develop and advance the game.
