Rita Lee Jones de Carvalho (São Paulo, December 31, 1947), known only as Rita Lee, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, writer and activist, of American and Italian descent. She is known as the 'Queen of Brazilian Rock'. Rita reached the mark of 55 million records sold. She built a career that started with rock but that over the years flirted with different genres, such as psychedelia during the era of tropicalism, pop rock, disco, new wave, MPB, bossa nova and electronics, creating a pioneering hybridism between international and national genres.
