A reference to a smokable ayahuasca, Changa taps into the most potent elements of dance and pop music. Among the tools in their arsenal: popping bass (“Save Disco”), atmospheric breaks, hopped-up choruses, early-‘90s rave touchstones (“Nothing In the World,” “Control Your Body”). “Into the Sky” shows the Sydney trio’s ability to break out from dance and entertain U2-level altitudes and ambitions, while “Chameleon” and “Go Bang” push the tempo with slinky attitude.
As always, if you enjoy the artists music, buy the album. Cheers
