Cookin’, Relaxin’, Workin’ and Steamin’ with The Miles Davis Quartet
In 1955 Miles Davis assembled what became known as his first classic quintet,
a collective that featured saxophonist John Coltrane, pianist Red Garland, bass player Paul Chambers, and drummer Philly Joe Jones.
Two sessions on May 11th and October 26th 1956 resulted in four albums,
each of which has been heralded ever since as a classic:
